--Create a free account
--Download Jing
--Create a screen capture tutorial
--Upload it to your free server space at Screencast and paste the url in an email or in Blackboard, OR save the .swf video to your computer
--Create a still screen shot, add arrows, text and emphasis boxes --Paste the screen shot into a Word document or email, or save the .png file to your computer
--Use the "History" feature of Jing to see what videos and screen shots you have created
--Log into your account at Screencast.com to manage your uploaded files

Jing is free and easy to use, and allows you to create simple, up to 5-minute-long, narrated screen capture videos.
If you need to add special effects or create longer videos, you may want to consider using Camtasia. Camtasia is approx. $179 for the educational price, but CMC has purchased a volume license. Contact CMC's Office of Innovations in Teaching and Learning for more information.
