Express Registration Process

Use Express Registration if you know the exact subject, course number, and section (or synonym) of the sections you want to add to your preferred course list and then register. You can find this information in the CMC published bulletin or by using the "Search for Sections" function in WebAdvisor. In the example below, you would use either the synonym "20132" OR the course information "BUS*115*DL01."

Step 1:

After logging into WebAdvisor, select Students.

Select "Register for Sections"

Select Register for Sections

Step 3:

Select "Express registration."

Step 4:

Enter the "Synonym number" or the "Course Information." See example below for formatting. Then select "OK."

Step 5:

The selected Section(s) now appears in the Preferred Sections area of the Register and Drop Sections screen. An ACTION MUST BE SELECTED FOR REGISTRATION TO BE COMPLETED for the sections listed in the "Preferred Sections" area of the Register and Drop Sections screen.

NOTE: If you want to apply the ACTION to all classes, use the drill-down menu next to "Action for ALL Pref. Sections." Otherwise, use the ACTION drill-down menu next to each section for your selection.

If you select . . .

RegisterYou will be automatically evaluated using the letter grade option. These grades are listed (A-F) under the "Grading System" section.
Register Pass/FailYou will receive a "P" for the class if you earn the equivalent of a "C-" or better, and an "F" if you earn the equivalent of a "D+", "D", "D-", or "F".
AuditStudents selecting the Audit Option receive an "AU" as the final grade. Students registered under this option earn no quality points or credit hours. Students cannot meet prerequisite requirements through this grade option.
Remove from ListRemoves selected Section from the list.
WaitlistThe Available/Capacity/Waitlist field shows if there are available seats in this class. If Available equals Capacity, the class is full. Use the Waitlist option to be placed on the waitlist for this section.

In addition to selecting an ACTION, next to "If one of my choices is not available," select the drill-down menu and select either "Allow me to adjust all" or "Complete only available." In the first instance, no registration is completed until all sections selected work, e.g., if one class is full the system will not register you for any classes until an action is taken on that class. In the latter selection, registration would be completed on all classes except the one that is full.

After making these selections, press the Submit button to continue.

Register and Drop Sections

Step 6:

The Registration Results screen is presented noting the classes where registration has been completed. If an ACTION was not taken on some of the classes in the Preferred Sections area, they would also appear here. Any classes where you have opted to be waitlisted would appear in the waitlisted area of this screen.

IMPORTANT – YOU MUST PAY FOR ALL CLASSES before your registration is complete. If payment is not received by midnight on the day you register for the classes, your registration will be dropped. Select the "Make a Payment" link to complete this process.

You can also continue registering for more classes by selecting the "Register for Classes" link at the bottom of this screen. If this link is selected, the following screen is presented.
