Growing up in the boondocks of the Big Island of Hawaii, Rainbow's life was filled with outdoor adventures and climbing was a natural outlet. Rainbow has been fortunate enough to climb, work and adventure throughout the U.S. and abroad, having tied into a rope in alpine Patagonia, the Dolomites of Italy, the coast of France, jungles of Venezuela, spires of Mexico and the absurdly good granite of Canada.
He has worked for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) for over ten years and led courses in North and South America in backpacking, climbing, mountaineering and caving. He also helped start the climbing guide service El Potrero Chico Climbing School and Guide Service based in Mexico.
Throughout the year Rainbow also guides rock climbing and mountaineering for Colorado Mountian School based out of Boulder, CO. He is eager and excited to teach people who have the interest today to become the guides, educators and climbers of tomorrow. He is always impressed how many students of his become co-workers and climbing partners.
