Education: BA in Geography from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland UK

In addition to CMC, I moonlight as the Director of Staffing for Rocky Mountain Outward Bound School.  I have a Wilderness First Responder, hold an AIARE L2 avalanche certification, AIARE Level 1 and 2 Instructor, Professional Ski Instructor of America (Telemark) trained and am a Professional Member of the American Avalanche Association.

Classes Taught:

I have been teaching at CMC since 2005, working courses such as Mountain, Canyon and Snow Orientation, Avalanche Level 1, Mountaineering and Backcountry Skiing and Riding.

Personal Interests:

Victoria Kerr outside in the snow.My goal is to spend my time and money doing things that I really value; to balance work and play; be part of big communities and have close friends; to be thoughtful about my impact; and to make my lifestyle financially and emotionally rewarding, simple and sustainable.

I really enjoy the motivation that CMC students bring to their field courses and am continually impressed by the enormous gains students experience over the course of their college career.  Often entering the program as backcountry novices, they graduate with experience in a variety of activities, such as rock, back-country skiing or sea-kayaking. In addition to learning solid technical skills, the experience they gain during field courses helps them make good decisions and competently lead others.
