Beginning Guitar
Mondays, 6:30-8:30pm, Jan. 28-Apr. 8
Sean Strode, professional musician, performer and teacher, shows you basic chord structure, rhythms, and reading. By the end of class you will be able to play basic guitar. Guitar and electronic tuner required. Cost: $149.

Level I: Wednesdays, 5:15-7:15pm, Jan. 23-May 1
Level II: Wednesdays, 7:30-9:30pm, Jan. 23-May 1
Please bring a playable, nylon- or steel-string guitar. Level I is for students with little or no musical knowledge; emphasis is on chord strumming, finger picking, tablature and note reading. Level II is for students who have previous knowledge of chord, tablature and some note reading; emphasizes blues and classic rock. Cost: 2 credit hours of tuition.
Campfire Harmonica
Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30pm, Jan. 29-Mar. 5
Professional harp-player Rob Tepper introduces old standard campfire favorites. Each session explores a new song - six in all. For complete beginners and emphasizes having fun! Students must provide their own 10-hole, key of “C” diatonic harmonica. Cost: $66.
Basic Blues Harmonica
Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30pm, Mar. 29-Apr. 23
Professional harp-player Rob Tepper teaches blues harp over standard 12-bar progressions. Techniques and concepts include articulation, lip and tongue blocking, vibrato, trills, chords, blues scales, octaves and introduction to bending. Focuses on applying and playing these concepts. For beginners and intermediates. Students must provide their own 10-hole, key of C harmonica. Cost: $66.
Inner Workings of Music
Thursdays, 6-8pm, Mar. 20-May 1
Do you play an instrument or sing? Would you like to have a deeper knowledge of the workings of music to make you more successful with that instrument? In this class, explore rhythm, harmony, intervals, scales, and compositional form. Gain a basic understanding of the musical alphabet. This class gives you a foundation to build on. Book ordering information is provided at first class. Cost: $119.
Jazz: Appreciating an American Art Form
Wednesdays, 6-8pm, Jan. 23-Mar. 6
Have you ever wanted to understand Jazz? Learn about the Roaring 20s? Or find out why Bebop defined the term “Hip?” In this class you learn how Jazz music became the music of America and how it helped change society. You listen to Miles Davis, John Coltrane and others while learning the real stories behind these iconic figures. Cost: $119.
World Music: The Universal Language
Wednesdays, 6-8pm, Mar. 20-May 1
In this class you explore music from all over the world. You hear, see and learn about various world music and how each plays a role in everyday life of their region. We focus most specifically on the music of Spain, India, Japan, Ireland, Africa and many more. Cost: $119.
