The Lappala Center in Carbondale is one of three locations that comprise the Roaring Fork Campus. It provides a robust learning environment that meets the needs of all learners. If you want to earn a degree you can meet with an advisor and elect to take transfer-level classes at the Lappala Center, Glenwood Center  and Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs - Spring Valley. 

Enhance your job skills with short classes and workshops in Carbondale geared to boosting software proficiency, knowledge of small business and English and Spanish language skills. Some of these courses carry continuing education units (CEUs) that may apply to professional development. Popular personal interest offerings include art, fitness, dance, music and writing.

Colorado Mountain College in Carbondale courses are taught by an array of highly experienced and talented instructors that include practicing artists, successful business advisors, and working professionals who are experts in their fields. Additionally, full-time professors shared among the three sites teach classes here.

Named for its generous land donors, Paul and Ginny Lappala, the Colorado Mountain College Lappala Center opened its doors for classes in the fall of 1996, though the college had been holding classes in this community in various temporary locations since 1974.

The Lappala Center is located in the heart of downtown Carbondale near the confluence of two rivers, the Roaring Fork and Crystal, and two major roadways, Highway 82 and Colorado's scenic byway, Highway 133.
