Academics at the Summit Campus have prepared students to transfer to a variety of four-year degree programs in liberal arts or science. Located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the Summit Campus provides a backcountry learning environment comparable to no others. To meet the growing demand for employees certified in backcountry rescue, the Summit Campus now offers a certificate in Wilderness Emergency Medical Services. Culinary Arts students learn firsthand in the elegant lodges and thriving restaurants of Keystone Resort. The Summit Campus Culinary Team has established a national reputation by winning top medals in regional and national competitions. Our Culinary program is a European-style ACF apprenticeship with Keystone Resort. The Early Childhood Education program provides training for those who want to become involved in the care of young children from birth to age eight. Courses in theory and lab experiences are combined to provide a comprehensive base of growth and development, with a strong emphasis on practical experience. Employment may be found in child care centers, preschools, nursery schools, after school programs, recreational centers and other programs serving children. Students can earn an Associate of Arts degree, Associate of Applied Science degree, or Certificates of Proficiency in Early Childhood Education.
