New Student Orientation at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville
Now that you have made the decision to attend Colorado Mountain College in Leadville, we would like to introduce you to our campus community at New Student Orientation, on July 16-17 or August 20-23!
So what's the plan?
All incoming students are required to attend New Student Orientation. At Orientation you'll learn about academic programs, take any placement testing necessary (math, reading, and/or English), meet with an academic advisor, register for your classes, meet other students and familiarize yourself with Leadville and all our campus has to offer!
Parents, family members, and guests are encouraged to attend.
July Session
Those attending our July session will have the opportunity to choose a roommate and their room ahead of time, and pre-register for classes (and defer payment until August). Parents and other guests have the option to stay on-campus for this session. If you are staying on campus for the July session, you and your guests should check-in between 3PM – 5PM on July 15!
August Session
For those who can’t make the July session, August Orientation leads right into the Welcome Weekend and the first week of classes! Students who register for classes during this session must pay their balance at the time of registration with student loans, cash, or check. Students living on-campus may check-in between 1PM and 4PM on August 20!
Student Costs
CMC provides meals, housing, and other services to students during orientation. A fee ($175 for those staying on-campus, $145 for those staying off-campus) is collected to help provide these services to students. During the online registration process, all major credit and debit cards can be used to make this payment.
The fee also covers all the Welcome Weekend events and activities that take place during the first weekend of the fall semester (August 23 - August 25, 2013).
Guest Costs
Guests can stay on-campus during the July session only, and the cost is $75 for the first guest, and $40 for each additional guest (includes informational materials, meals, and residence hall lodging). Guests wishing to stay off campus can participate for $40 for the first guest, and $30 for each additional guest (includes informational materials and meals).
