Learn Veterinary Technology on a Farm!

This spectacular location is unmatched anywhere else for beauty and learning opportunities

Choose a Veterinary Technology program in a setting like no other. Your classes are set on a 220-acre vet school farm filled with animals and overlooking the soaring Elk Mountains. Located at Spring Valley Campus, the farm includes outdoor pens, work areas and a science lab. Our 2600-square-foot hospital was designed by veterinarians and technicians to approximate a working veterinary hospital to provide on-the-job training.

  • 12-stall equine teaching barn
  • Modern livestock handling facility
  • Small animal hospitals with kennel and treatment areas
  • Surgical suite
  • Dental, x-ray and laboratory areas

This setting lets you choose to work with the kinds of animals you love — horses, cattle, sheep, dogs, cats or exotics. The farm includes a collection of raptors that have been injured and are unable to return to the wild.

The Colorado Mountain College Vet Tech program can give you the skills to work a job or career with the animals you love. Our program has a reputation for training quality technicians who assist doctors of veterinary medicine. The CMC Vet Tech program is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association's (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities. Students are required to meet all task requirements of AVMA accreditation standards.

We also offer the nation's only certification in Animal Shelter Management. You can complete this program by itself or after your Veterinary Technology degree as an added specialty.
