Judy Evans, Assistant Professor, received a Diploma in Nursing in 1976 from the Wesley School of Nursing, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005 from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2009.
Judy is currently working towards a Certification in Nursing Education.
Judy began a career in nursing education as an adjunct in 2009, and has been full time faculty at Colorado Mountain College since 2011. She is currently licensed in the state of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, and her clinical experience includes home health, acute care in medical-surgical units, emergency and ambulatory care. She has been the Nurse Education Director and House Supervisor at Aspen Valley Hospital.
At the Spring Valley Campus Judy currently teaches Fundamentals of Nursing, Assessment, Pharmacology, Mental Health Nursing and clinical courses, as well as works in the Acute Care Unit at Valley View Hospital.
When Judy is not teaching at CMC, she enjoys hiking, road biking, swimming, reading and international traveling. She and her husband have been married for 35+ years and have four grown children with whom they enjoy visiting and traveling. She volunteers regularly at health fairs, school events, and promotes nursing at every opportunity by speaking to middle and high school students. She is a strong advocate for the profession of nursing.
