The professional fly fishing guide program at Colorado Mountain College is a six-week in-residence summer program at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville. Successful participants receive a certificate of proficiency – fly fish guide upon completion of the program.

fly fishingThe fly fish guide business has grown significantly in recent years. Many guiding businesses have established themselves with year-round clientele, creating a continual need for qualified outdoor guiding staff.

This program is designed to provide you with the skills and techniques needed to get a head start in fly fish guiding. In addition, you will be provided the basic skills to start your own business.

This program is offered at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville.


All or part of this operation is conducted on Public Lands and Waters under special permits and agreements from the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, and Colorado State Parks.
