Higher Learning Commission Mark of AffiliationColorado Mountain College Accreditation

Accreditation at CMC is an on-going effort to meet its mission and help students succeed

Colorado Mountain College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, which is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Commission can be reached at: 30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602-2504, telephone: 1-800-621-7440. CMC has chosen the Higher Learning Commission's alternative accreditation through AQIP (the Academic Quality Improvement Program).

In 2008 CMC's accreditation was reaffirmed for another seven years. Download outlines of the accreditation process and key processes currently under improvement:

AQIP defines nine categories in which our performance is evaluated. AQIP requires that we ask ourselves and our constituents how we're doing, how we can improve, and what projects we can complete to achieve our goals. Learn more about the nine AQIP categories at www.hlcommission.org.

CMC's progress toward creating a culture of evidence is presented in our Systems Portfolio, which will be updated and documents our success.

The 2007 Quality Check-Up Visit Feedback Report (pdf)  was largely positive and encouraged us to keep moving forward with our strong commitment to AQIP and Learning College initiatives. They would like us to better define and share processes and results. However, the visit team noted a strong and successful foundation, and their conversations with community members and students reflected CMC's success in meeting its communities' needs.

These are just a few examples of how the college has been making good progress on all levels, is successfully meeting its mission and is continually striving to do an even better job of helping students succeed.
