Student Support Services
(SSS) is a federally funded program designed for low-income, first generation and/or students with disabilities who need academic and other support services in order to successfully complete their educational goals.
The goals of Colorado Mountain College's SSS Program are to:
- Increase retention and graduation rates for low-income students, first generation college students and students with disabilities;
- Increase transfer rates for SSS students from CMC to a four-year institution;
- Provide students with a caring and supportive environment of faculty, staff and peers.
In order to participate in the SSS Program, a student must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Come from a family where neither parent has a baccalaureate degree
- Have an income that meets federal guidelines for the program; and/or
- Have a documented disability.
These are some of the services that are available to SSS students to assist them in achieving academic success:
- Tutors
- Campus guides
- Career counseling
- Study and life skills workshops
- Transfer services
- Assistance with locating financial aid and completing applications
- Advocacy with faculty, staff and other students
The SSS Program is available to students at CMC's three residential campuses Alpine (Steamboat Springs), Spring Valley (Glenwood Springs) and Timberline (Leadville). Please contact one of the campus coordinators or the program director below for more information.
