Meet the CMC Disability Services Coordinators
Debra Farmer, Alpine | Cheri White, Spring Valley | Sandi Conner, Timberline
Debra Farmer, Alpine Campus
As the Disability Services Coordinator for the Steamboat Springs Campus, I assist students with a variety of support services. These are individualized in order to meet the needs of each student. The support a student receives, however, is based upon the documentation information about his/her disability. Since there are no special education classes separate from the regular courses that are offered, it is important that you meet with me on a regular basis so that I can help you be successful with your class work.
I am a native of Colorado and have worked in a variety of educational systems from preschool to college level with many different types of students with special needs. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Biology from the University of Colorado. I also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Metro State College, Denver, Colorado. I received my Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Colorado.

Sandi Conner, Timberline Campus
As Disability Services Coordinator at CMC's eastern most campus and sites, I wish to welcome you to the web page for students with disabilities. I'm available to assist eligible students who have appropriate documentation with registration, the testing process, or any accommodation you may need in the classroom. It is CMC's mission to facilitate a smooth transition from high school, a GED program, or another college/university setting or provide assistance to the older first time student to ease the sometimes overwhelming entry process. The staff and faculty at CMC want you to have a successful educational experience during you time with us.
For any student, going off to college is a challenge. For the student who requires different support services, it is necessary to plan ahead more thoroughly. Please contact me as soon as possible so I can send you the Students with Disabilities enrollment packet, which includes these forms: application, internal release of information, external release of information, and the strengths and weaknesses survey. You will note from the Transition Guide, that appropriate documentation is required. Accommodations are individual and are based on the documentation received.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Metropolitan State College, Denver, Colorado, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from University of Colorado, Denver, Colorado. I am a licensed professional counselor and hold certification in various theory and practice modalities. Serving students with different needs in the college setting is a rewarding and sometimes challenging experience. Preparing for this task, I have attended conferences, sponsored by the Association of Higher Education and Disabilities (AHEAD), plus many workshops on the ADA in higher education.
I look forward to meeting you. e-mail me if you have questions.
