Get Started in Your Career as a Veterinary Technician.

To begin your career as a Veterinary Technician you will need to purchase some professional equipment. These career expenses are required for the program and will equip you as a professional veterinary technician.

Estimated equipment costs:

• Thermometer $5-$15 (mercury or digital)
• Lab coat $15-$25
• Stethoscope $20-$60
• Large Animal Coveralls $25-$35
• Scrubs (optional) $30-$40

You should also have:

• Boots and winter wear for farm animal care
• Watch with a sweep second hand
• Calculator.

Because of the special requirements for laboratories, specialized equipment and materials, Veterinary Technology carries a program fee which is paid in addition to other instructional costs. Our catalog lists the current fees for enrollment at Colorado Mountain College.

You must demonstrate college-level reading, writing, and mathematics skills before entering this program. Your skills in these areas may affect the sequence of courses in which you can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete this program.

This program has certain physical and academic standards which you will be required to meet before you are admitted to the program. Students accepted into the college's vocational programs must be physically, mentally, and emotionally self-supportive with reasonable accommodations.
