Hands On Veterinary Technology Training
Veterinary technology degree program student.

Hands On Veterinary Technology Training.

The Veterinary Technology Teaching Hospital gives you many hands-on training opportunities. A 220-acre farm overlooks the spectacular Elk Mountain Range. The Farm provides opportunities not found at most Veterinary Technology colleges, especially training for large animals.

The Farm population averages 175 animals. You'll care for horses, cattle, sheep, llamas and the usual assortment of turkeys, chickens, dogs and cats. A collection of exotic, laboratory and wild animals provides unusual veterinary care situations. You can care daily for owls, eagles, lizards, tortoises and several hawks.

The Colorado Animal Rescue (CARE) shelter located on the farm provides high quality care for animals awaiting adoption. This offers additional opportunities for students to learn how to care for these animals and operate a humane shelter. You can also get additional certification in Animal Shelter Management.
