Quality Veterinary Technology Program Faculty.

Veterinary technology center at Colorado Mountain College.The Veterinary Technology program staff at Colorado Mountain College includes Doctors of Veterinary Medicine, academic instructors and certified Veterinary Technicians.

The vet program sometimes includes guest lecturers and special speakers including research veterinarians, private practice veterinarians, zoo veterinary technicians and veterinarians.

Dr. Jeff Myers, Program Director

Born and raised in Western Canada . Married to Julie. Daughter Nicole and son Hayden. Interests: Camping, biking, fishing, hockey, reading

Education:

  • B.S. Veterinary Science - Colorado State University (1982)
  • D.V.M. - Colorado State University (1986)

Experience:

  • Associate Professor of Veterinary Technology – Colorado Mountain College (2001 – present)
  • Veterinarian/Practice Owner – Aspen/Carbondale Animal Hospitals (1991-2001)

Dr. Karen Kean-Hines

Karen was selected as the 2004 Teacher of the Year for the Roaring Fork Campus.

Born and raised in Ohio. Lived in Colorado briefly as a child, moved back to attend college and have lived here ever since. Interests: Riding, Hiking, Biking, Skiing, Books

  • B.S. Veterinary Science - Colorado State University (1974)
  • D.V.M. - Colorado State University (1976)

Experience:

  • Professor of Veterinary Technology – Colorado Mountain College (1996 – present)
  • Small Animal and Emergency Medicine Practice 1976 to 1996

Nancy Sheffield

I was born in Virginia and grew up in the Shenandoah Valley.  I now live in Spring Valley with my husband, Jeff, who is a park ranger.  We share our home with our dog, two cats, and several birds.  My interests include hiking, biking, birding, reading, dogs and yoga

  • B.S., Animal Science – University of Maryland (1981)
  • A.A.S., Veterinary Technology – Blue Ridge Community College (1979)

  • Certified Veterinary Technician – Eastside Animal Clinic, Naples FL (1998 – 2002)
  • Hospital Administrator / Licensed Veterinary Technician – Animal Hospital of Waynesboro, Waynesboro VA (1982 – 1998)

Ruth Walker

Raised in New Mexico. Live in Glenwood Springs with two daughters, 1 dog , and 1 cat. Interests: Running, Biking, Hiking, Reading, Animals!
