To earn your Veterinary Technology degree you will study and gain practical experience in many areas. The degree includes training in animal anatomy, physiology, radiography, clinical hematology, parasitology, urinalysis, microbiology, medical nursing, surgical nursing and clinical management.

Veterinary Technology degree graduates say that hands-on learning experiences provide valuable and useful information that they carry with them throughout their careers.The five-week externship work experience will give you on-the-job training at private practice veterinarians, zoos or other facilities.

The Veterinary Technology staff and students occasionally assist the Colorado Division of Wildlife with the treatment of injured wild animals.
