The Petroleum Technology Certificate includes nine credit hours to prepare students for technical competencies for entry level employment opportunities in the emerging and expanding oil and natural gas drilling, gathering, and field operations industry.

Process Technology Operator
This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in process plant operations and up-stream oil and gas operations. Process technicians ensure safety, health, and other environmental practices and standards in all areas of process activities. This program educates and develops technicians who will control and monitor various industrial ventures and plant processes.
Process Technology Operator Certificate Requirements
Industrial Instrumentation Controls Technician
This certificate program will provide the concepts of automatic control, occupational analysis of job descriptions, working conditions, employment opportunities, professional certification requirements, and safety considerations in the class and for those employed in the field of industrial instrumentation. Process characteristics, control applications, and an introduction to standard instrument symbology, terminology, P&IDs and loop drawings will be presented. Topics include pneumatic, electronic, digital, and mechanical devices and systems.
