Hands On Photography Training
Digital imaging includes cameras, large format Epson printers, a Mac computer lab and a PC computer lab. In the studio, you can learn high end digital camera capture by using our medium format digital back. Local printing services are available for large, high quality digital output to a variety of papers and media. Our 1,200 square-foot studio allows students to photograph subjects from fine jewelry to large sets. Chimera Corporation has donated several large light banks to simulate natural light. An assortment of studio equipment allows you to set up lighting for all situations. Portable lighting systems are available to Outside the studio, the landscapes are endless. You are surrounded by opportunities for outdoor photography in the White River National Forest and four wilderness areas. Or you can drive to Rocky Mountain and Black Canyon National Parks. You can photograph wildlife from campus in the evening when the deer come down to feed. Shoot international competitions and celebrations in Aspen and Vail. Explore the ghost town of Ashcroft or the old Crystal Mill with your camera. Through assignments and field workshops, you will learn to solve visual and logistical problems while on location. Outdoor photography field workshops leave campus for photogenic locations such as Yellowstone and Canyonlands National Parks, and the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. |
