Curriculum. It all begins with a solid technical understanding of photography. During two years you will learn: basic and advanced techniques for black & white photography; basic and advanced color techniques; large format; studio practices and lighting; digital imaging; fundamental artistic principles; processing and printing (black & white, and color); location photography; and portraiture. These courses give you hands-on experience with photographic equipment and processes. Graphic computer labs, scanners and output devices give you opportunities to learn digital imaging techniques, a must for anyone in today's visual communication industry. We have signed a transfer agreement with Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, a leader in photographic education. Qualified Colorado Mountain College graduates can transfer to upper division courses at Brooks. Our graduates have also transferred to Rochester Institute of Technology, the Art Institute of Chicago, and other four-year institutions.
