Outdoor Education for Careers in the Wilderness.

Outdoor recreation while doing outdoor ed.The Colorado Mountain College Associate of Arts: Outdoor Education degree allows graduates to pursue several options for wilderness careers. Graduates are prepared to enter the outdoor, adventure and recreation fields in a number of positions such as guiding, retail sales, resort recreation, military or community outdoor recreation, and technician positions with federal agencies such as the Forest Service or Bureau of Land Management.

Colorado Mountain College outdoor education degree program graduates often transfer to four-year institutions to pursue a bachelor's or graduate degree. They have pursued outdoor education, adventure and recreation, teacher and school counselor certificates, anthropology, philosophy, and environmental science degrees. Graduates have gone on to attend Colorado universities, and out-of-state institutions such as the University of New Hampshire, Alaska Pacific University, the University of Washington and Western Washington University.
