riverWater at the Alpine Campus

The Yampa River flows through downtown Steamboat.  We have a variety of courses that give you the chance to get out and learn about rivers.

River Orientation (OUT118)
We have two sections of River O.  One sections focuses on canoe techniques and one focuses on rafting techniques.  The time spent in both sections can be used for hours towards your Colorado River Guide Certification.  These courses expose you to reading the water, navigating rapids, and safety techniques.  They also incorporate group planning, meals, and dynamics on the river.
