Outdoor eduaction college degree program.

Outdoor eduaction college degree program.

The Outdoor Education degree and Certificate of Completion.

Colorado Mountain College blends the Associate of Arts degree with Outdoor Education to create exciting prospects for our graduates to directly enter the job market or pursue further study. You'll develop well-rounded technical, leadership and teaching skills to prepare you for your Outdoor Education and Adventure career. Graduates are guaranteed transfer to four year colleges and universities in Colorado. Similar programs across the nation, including Alaska, may also accept transfer credit.

The Associate of Arts: Outdoor Education Concentration allows you to build a solid foundation in communications and liberal arts combined with outdoor education leadership and technical skills. We do much more than "go camping." Colorado Mountain College wilderness-related courses teach not only the "nuts and bolts" of outdoor skills, but also leadership, judgment, teaching skills and decision making.

You will study theoretical concepts in classrooms, then apply them in some of the most spectacular and challenging outdoor settings throughout the western United States, Canada and Central America. You might train with us to be a river guide in the summer, take a rain forest ecology course in Costa Rica, or learn route finding and avalanche safety on winter ascents in Colorado.
