Occupational Safety and Health Program at Colorado Mountain College

The two-year training program at CMC prepares you for entry-level work in the field of Occupational Safety and Health. As an OSH Technician, you’ll be in demand for jobs and careers in the oil and gas industry, the government, manufacturing, and construction.

Your college coursework, led by Safety and Health professionals, will also lay the foundation for you to successfully complete the additional training hours and exams required to become a CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist).

In your career as an Occupational Safety and Health Technician, you will inspect workplaces for safety issues to reduce job-related injuries and illness, limit industrial accidents, and control environmental impacts. Your training, informed judgments and quick decisions will help protect lives and preserve valuable resources.

As an Occupational Safety and Health Technician, you'll write safety plans Occupational safety and health inspection site.and provide consultation on accident investigations, audits and inspections, hazard analysis, and fire protection strategies. You will also help organizations comply with regulations and maintain emergency preparedness.
