A Classroom for Natural Resource Management in the Colorado Rocky Mountains

The Rocky Mountains provide a great outdoor laboratory for studying Natural Resource Management. Colorado Mountain College provides education for careers in environmental site assessment, hydrology, soils, forestry, geology, environmental chemistry, environmental monitoring, aquatic ecology and others. You'll study high alpine, river, and semi-desert ecosystems. The diverse terrestrial ecology unique to the Rocky Mountains surrounding Leadville enhances the experiential learning aspect of this program. Learn the skills to assess water and land problems and develop the skills to recommend solutions for a healthy environment. The Colorado Mountain College Natural Resource Management curriculum is also designed to transfer into four-year degree programs at Western State College of Colorado and Mesa State College. The Natural Resource Management program developed from our Environmental Technology program which began in 1974 and was one of the most well-established programs of its kind in the country. The Natural Resource Management program at Colorado Mountain College Timberline Campus in Leadville specializes in helping students graduate with entry-level skills in a variety of environmental science fields, including many outdoor jobs and careers.
