Fire Science Technology Curriculum, Firefighting

The two-year degree provides 64 credits of thorough technical training and general education courses in firefighting that can help you move up in your career or job.

You can chose to take your training as either a "resident firefighter" or "full student." Some Colorado fire protection districts offer "resident fire fighter programs" for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience. The resident programs provide a place to live and a modest living stipend. Each fire protection district has its own application and selection criteria to gain entrance to the program.

ULearn firefighting for a job or career.nder the full-student program, you pursue fire science with no obligation to serve as a volunteer firefighter. The amount of actual work experience with a local department is left to you, and you can change that decision at any time.
