During winter, it is consistently ranked by skiers and snowboarders as one of the top 3 destinations in the U.S. and has the unique distinction of having hosted two World Alpine Skiing Championships. In summer, outdoor activities abound including mountain biking, hiking, fishing, kayaking, etc. No matter what time of year, the Vail Valley features the finest in lodging and dining.

We have four ways for you to acquaint yourself with our program and determine if it is right for you.

Working Interview  This is ideal for anyone who does not have experience working in a professional kitchen. Before you commit to the three-year program, see if you really enjoy life in a kitchen. Working interviews generally last from two to six months and involve one job site.

Audition Interview  Get a feel for the entire CMC experience. Come live in employee housing for 3-5 days, work at multiple job sites, and meet other apprentices and your Chef Instructors. This is a great way to check out the area and see if it matches your expectations. The Audition Interview is only offered during the month of August.

Omelet Interview  The perfect interview if you know this program is for you. Spend a few hours talking with fellow applicants and learning more about CMC. During this interview, you will meet Chefs from various restaurants and get a chance to show your stuff by cooking omelets for them.

Individual Tour   A brief tour of the area and facilities is available upon request any time of the year. Potential applicants are encouraged to come to the campus, meet the Director and ask questions prior to submitting an application.

Please call (970)569-2925 to schedule any of these activities.
