The Ropeway Technician Certificate of Occupational Proficiency is a
four-year US Department of Labor chartered Apprenticeship
Program for jobs and careers.
In this individually-designed program, you will receive 8,000 hours
of on-the-job training. Over the course of four years, there are ten
classes, including mechanical and electrical maintenance, ropeway
construction and ski area risk management.
Classes are taught almost entirely over the Internet. Students are required to have access to the World Wide Web and utilize e-mail to complete these courses. For more information regarding Colorado Mountain College's Distance Learning Program, see www.coloradomtn.edu/distlearn.
Additionally, students will have access to the Blackboard Learning System which helps the student manage schoolwork, check assignments, take tests, e-mail or chat with the teacher, even review class notes on the "whiteboard".
