Join us for Encore! lifelong learning at CMC in Rifle – no tests, no grades. Whether in pursuit of knowledge or simply for the joy of learning, we have a great variety of classes from accounting to yoga.

Encore! Dean Bowlby Art Retreat
Saturday, 10a-3pm, June 9/Rifle Creek, Rifle Ranger District/ Cost: $45

Set up your art supplies and capture the beauty of spruce trees and gurgling water. The setting for this outdoor painting adventure is the Spruce Picnic Area located along Rifle Creek in the Rifle Ranger District (just past Rifle Mountain City Park). Dean Bowlby will instruct you in the painting style of "Plein Aire" or "in the open air". Dean will first demonstrate techniques and then will provide individual instruction and tutoring. While Dean's instruction will be in the use of oil on panel/canvas, all artistic media are welcome. Please pack a sack lunch and bring a folding chair. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. This is a unique opportunity to spend the day painting outdoors. We will meet at 9AM at the central location to get settled in by 10AM. As mentioned, you may bring whatever art medium you would prefer to use.
