  • Code of Federal Regulations: Via the U.S. House of Representatives Internet Law Library. Includes a searchable database with instructions in an FAQ section.
  • Congress.org : This directory is maintained by a Washington DC-based public affairs organization and contains a membership directory for both houses of Congress.
  • Core Documents of the U.S. Democracy : A core group of current and historical Government publications to the basic Federal Government documents that define our democratic society.
  • Department of Health and Human Services: Featuring full text searching of publicly available Federal information resources via GILS (Government Information Locator Service).
  • Federal Election Commission: Providing access to information on the election process and campaign finance law.
  • Fedstats: One stop shopping for federal statistics which provides access to more than 70 statistics-producing agencies of the federal government.
  • Fedworld: Provided by the National Technical Information Service, this site provides links to numerous sources on on-line government documents, information and files.
  • FirstGov: A searchable, all purpose portal to online federal government information and services.
  • G.P.O. Access: Searchable versions of Congressional Bills, Congressional Reports, U.S. Code and the Federal Register.
  • Government Information Sharing Project: Maintained by Oregon State University Library, this site provides access to statistical government data on demographics, economics, and education.
  • Government Publications Library: A project of CU Boulder, this site provides access to citations offered and state documents, as well as numerous other government resources.
  • National Archives and Records Administration : A searchable site from the independent federal agency responsible for preserving documents relevant to U.S. history and overseeing the management of all federal records.
  • Official Federal Government Web Sites, via Library of Congress, with links to the White House, Executive and Independent Agencies, and the Judicial and Legislative Branches.
  • Thomas: Published by the Library of Congress, this site offers current bills, the Congressional Record, committee information and historical documents.
  • U.S. Department of Education: Topics from A to Z: This searchable site includes educational program descriptions, reports and other useful data .
  • U.S. Environmental Protection Agency A searchable site of EPA news, regulations and publications.
  • U.S. Federal Courts Home Page: Select the "Understanding the Courts" link for an overview of the organization, operation, and administration of the entire federal court system.
