Alpine Campus Library Collection
- Books: The Alpine Campus Library currently houses approximately 22,000 volumes. The library director purchases books reviewed favorably in such periodicals as Choice, Booklist, and Library Journal that support CMC degree programs and complement the existing collection. The library encourages faculty to submit requests for books located in catalogs, magazines, or other sources; please make a purchase suggestion by clicking the link at the top of the page. Books are shelved according to the Library of Congress classification system.
- CDs & DVDs: Students may choose from a varied selection of movies and documentaries on DVD, as well as jazz, classical, Native American and World music on compact disc. CDs and DVDs check out for 1 week.
- Maps: The library director purchases atlases that support the general curriculum and the travel needs of the community and student body. The library collects topographical maps of Western Colorado and other areas of interest, such as national parks and monuments.
- Periodicals: The library director purchases
periodical titles that best support CMC degree programs. The library currently holds over 180 magazine and newspaper titles.
- Reserve Materials: The library houses and circulates faculty selected reserve materials for student use. Library staff return reserve materials to the instructor at the end of the semester or at the instructor's request.
- State Documents: The library has been a full
depository for Colorado state documents since 1994. These documents are
shelved as a separate format arranged by issuing department and are not
integrated into the collection by subject area.
- TeleWeb: Although the library houses and circulates current TeleWeb courses tapes, it does not catalog them.
When a TeleWeb course is not currently offered, library staff place the video or audio tapes in storage.
