Historic Preservation Jobs & Careers. To date, there is possibly no other era in history which has generated more interest -- and directed more resources toward -- historic preservation. The skills you acquire in our program will allow you entry to a variety of careers. Preservationists are needed both to contract the services of qualified craftsmen or to be those skilled individuals available for work on restoration projects. Trained preservationists are also employed by the government, heritage tourist sites, and educational institutions. Other paths you may pursue include research, design and consulting and even specialized building contracting. As communities everywhere are becoming more and more interested in preserving their historic places, you can also volunteer your time as an advocate or advisor for restoring and maintaining these properties as an expert conservationist. Your passion for preservation will be fueled by this program at Colorado Mountain College. With your education, you can help your community properly execute the steps necessary to preserve their historic treasures and plan new structures that complement the old. |
