Technology at Colorado Mountain College

SMART classrooms and extensive use of the Internet complement a hands-on education at CMC

Colorado Mountain College utilizes a broad range of technology in teaching and communicating with students.Colorado Mountain College uses a variety of educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning.  These include the Blackboard course management system to facilitate online interaction, Elluminate web conferencing, SMART Board interactive whiteboards in many classrooms, an interactive video system that connects all of the CMC campuses and computer labs.

GMail accounts for all students — Students can depend on receiving timely communications about CMC registration, courses, and events in their Gmail accounts.

Blackboard Course Shells: Blackboard is an electronic classroom or meeting space. All online courses use Blackboard, and other classes can also use it as  a space where students can view their assignments, grades, have discussions with classmates, or ask the instructor questions.

ElluminateLive Online Meetings: ElluminateLive is an online meeting service that can be used from any computer that can connect to the Internet. It allows learners to have conference time with faculty, even when a student can’t make it to campus.

Virtual Library Services: Whether a learner is at a commuter or residential campus, CMC offers an extensive set of journals available right online. The virtual librarian also answers questions, can assist with interlibrary loans of printed materials, provides online tutorials and face-to-face sessions for classes learning how to research.
