Leadville, Colorado is the place if you love the outdoors and want a career that will keep you there. Timberline Campus specializes in outdoor recreation and environmental programs, in a spectacular mountain setting.
As you walk across Timberline Campus above Leadville you can look over the valley to Colorado's highest peaks looming out of the Continental Divide. Several National Forests, and Wilderness Areas, provide plenty of adventure nearby. In the evening deer often feed at the edge of the thick pine forest bordering campus.
The Academic Center at the Timberline Campus provides classrooms, science, natural resource and computer labs, and a cybercafe/bookstore. Smart classrooms are wired to feed the latest online information into class.
The Natural Resource Management program runs internship projects from its office here. Also on campus is a new library/learning center, student center, cafeteria and residence halls. The Ski Area Operations program has classrooms, a snowcat maintenance garage and several outdoor practice locations, including nearby Ski Cooper.
The Historic Preservation program uses nearby National Register Historic District Hayden Ranch as its working laboratory. The campus is also a spectacular location for summer conferences and institutes which brings participants from throughout Colorado and other states.
