Tai chi, one of the program offerings of the Center for Lifelong Learning

(Registration form)

Center for Lifelong Learning

The pursuit of knowledge is a lifelong endeavor that becomes richer, more enjoyable and personally meaningful with each passing year. Even if you’re finished with school, we continue to learn from our jobs, our family and friends, from the world around us. Sometimes, we’re learning without even realizing it.

At Colorado Mountain College, we created the Center for Lifelong Learning to help fill in those gaps in your knowledge base, offer opportunities to add to what you already know, and to give you the chance to have fun while learning. Our classes can be taken by anyone, regardless of previousBelly Dancing, one of the program offerings of the Center for Lifelong Learning experience or educational background.

The new Center for Lifelong Learning is a place to explore new interests, expand your current list of hobbies or experience something completely new. Depending on the class, you can do it in an afternoon, a day, a weekend or a month. Just find what fits in your schedule and go for it!

At CLL, Summit County’s best resource for continuing education, we offer classes, courses and workshops for all ages and skill levels. The only requirement is a little time in your schedule and the desire to learn. The range of what we offer is wide, the knowledge of our instructors is deep. Whether you need to learn PowerPoint for your new job, learn to knit so you can make a blanket for a new baby, or hone your belly-dancing skills, it’s all here at CLL.

Want to try something new? There’s Feldenkrais — a class that will help you reconnect with your body and become more comfortable in your skin by gaining a deep awareness of the way you move and breathe — or Capoeira — a Brazilian Dance/Martial Arts. You can even introduce yourself to the world of African rhythm drums or reach new heights with our rock climbing class.

CLL has other popular classes ongoing like Tai Chi, Tribal Belly Dancing, the Summit in Bloom Wildflower Hikes, and Smart Women Finish Rich. For the artist in you, check out Acting 101, Writing Creatively or Watercolor Workshop with Ann Weaver. To help inspire your creative side, try “Coaching the Artist Within,” based on the popular book.

Whether you’re looking to enhance your computer skills to further your career, getting ready to wow everyone with your ballroom dancing abilities at your wedding, or want to reach new heights in our rock-climbing classes, CLL has something for just about every interest. You just need to turn off that TV and pick up the phone!
