Roy G. Brubacher, Treasurer and West Garfield County Trustee
Roy retired in 1988 and established a lobbying and consulting firm. He served as the contracted Executive Secretary of the Colorado Boards of Cooperative Services Association and chief lobbyist. He also held lobbying contracts with independent telephone companies and public health organizations and consulting contracts with out-of-state educational agencies and private companies. In 2000, he liquidated his company following the death of Doris, his wife of fifty-one years, and moved to Parachute, Colorado to be near his son and his family. While living in Parachute, he has served as a member of the Garfield County # 16 Board of Education, President of the Grand Valley Educational Foundation, and President of the Grand Valley/Parachute Kiwanis Club. Roy was awarded and AA degree by La Junta Junior College, a BA degree by Western State College, and a Masters Degree by the University of Northern Colorado. He is also a graduate of the National Public Policy Forum of the University of Virginia. He has served as a guest instructor at Adams State College, Western State College, University of Colorado, Colorado State University, University of Denver, Fort Hayes Kansas State University, and New Mexico State University. Throughout his career he has served on numerous State and National Commissions and Committees, and in 1982 was elected President of the National Rural Education Association. |
