Colorado Mountain College in
Steamboat Springs

Scenes from life in Steamboat Springs.

Set in Colorado’s high country surrounded by breathtaking beauty and overlooking a world-class resort community, the Alpine Campus emphasizes strong academic liberal arts for transfer to four-year institution and a number of nationally recognized career-technical programs. In addition, the Alpine Campus specializes in some unique outdoor and wilderness courses and programs. The main building, Bristol Hall, includes classrooms and faculty offices, a complete library with wireless access, a gymnasium, and computer, physics, engineering, and science labs. Willett Hall houses the Learning Lab, the campus bookstore, dining facilities, and the student union. Manson Hall houses the Resort Management laboratories, Ski and Snowboard Business labs, and Outdoor Education classrooms. Take a look around! (requires Quicktime).

On campus. The lodges, restaurants and businesses of Steamboat provide an opportunity for students to combine classroom learning with cooperative work experiences. Part-time employment is plentiful in the resort community, and many students work while attending school.

The Steamboat Springs area offers unlimited year-round recreational opportunities for snowboarding and skiing, rock climbing, whitewater canoeing, backpacking and fishing. Students learn additional outdoor skills through college-sponsored activities such as canyon, snow, and river orientation, mountaineering, and orienteering.

A Ute Indian legend says that if you come to the Yampa Valley you will lose your heart to the valley and will never be able to stay away. Many people who work or attend school here have found the legend to be true.
