How do you develop your program to meet our needs?

Every program is uniquely created to address the specific concerns and needs of your group. Prior to your experience, the Program Director will send a “needs assessment” questionnaire to be filled out by program participants. The questionnaire addresses the specifics of your organization, including the strengths and challenges of your organization and what you are hoping to accomplish with the Experiential Development Program. The Program Director reviews the questionnaires and develops a program based on that feedback.Teambuilding exercises at the experiential development program

What should we expect during a program?

That depends on what your stated goals are for the program. You can expect a professional facilitator to design an experience that meets the needs of your group. While designing your program we are sensitive to the physical capabilities of your group and can create a range of possible programs to meet your needs.

Throughout your program at CMC you can expect a facilitator to challenge you with activities and initiatives that directly relate to the needs assessment that is conducted prior to the program. The facilitator’s role is to provide a safe and positive environment for your group to develop and learn.

What types of outcomes can we expect to see from this program?

Our programs enhance leadership skills, promote healthy group development, and facilitate constructive conflict management. We help organizations develop healthy relationships based on trust and clearly defined roles of members through recognizing and employing effective patterns of communication.

Our school programs help students develop self-esteem, manage conflicts with non-violence and effective communication, and break down racial barriers through cooperative experiential initiatives and activities.

Leadership development courseHow many people can you accommodate?

Group size is flexible and depends on the activities you would like to participate in. Experiential Development programs can accommodate groups as small as six and as large as 200. Contact the program director for inquiries on group size with other activities.

Where do you run your programs?

We operate on the Spring Valley Campus of Colorado Mountain College. Our programs can be held here or we can bring the program to you. All we need is a space large enough for your group to move around comfortably. We have permits to operate wilderness trips on Independence Pass, Glenwood Canyon, Unaweep Canyon, Vail Pass, and several other areas across Colorado and Utah.

How should I dress and what should I bring?

Dress comfortably for programs in close toed shoes. Bring sunscreen and a water bottle and be prepared to be outside if the weather permits. Dress in layers of clothing appropriate for the season.

What is the level of physical activity in these programs?

All of our programs are designed to meet the physical needs of the groups we work with. Programs are flexible by nature and can accommodate everyone from the ardent athletes and armchair spectators.
